  • How right you are! I (as an Engineer) was making an approximation of Ohm's Law for "rough" analysis. I will leave the actual laws to Physicists and Chemists. That's what us Engineers do.

  • V=IR is actually not the ohm's law, it's just the definition of resistance

ohm's law is a empirical law stating that the resistance will be constant, regardless of the current (and thus the voltage)

while most material follows this law, not all of them does

    semi-conductors, for example are non-ohmic

  • @ericon52168 this is exactly why we need an engineer show -- look how smart you are!

  • What about Dilbert? That was a show about an Engineer. And it is a comic also. Heck, there are not too many shows about Marketing...

  • Aw man...your stuff is usually so funny! This one didn't do it for me.

I don't disagree with the premise, though - The I.T. Crowd certainly comes close!

  • these are the corniest jokes...horrible

  • the big bang theory borders the line.... but its more about the big bang, less about the theory :P

  • @butterfliwashere

    absolutely!!

  • @hoppes9 your point is?

  • @donmcmillancomedy :D my major is chemistry, and i intend to stick to it

it's understandable that most people label V=IR as the ohm's law though, R being a constant is normally stated in context
