Open Forum: How Can Business Contribute to the Global Compact?
The United Nations has taken the lead to promote the participation of business in solving global issues such as poverty, environmental sustainability and global health through numerous initiatives including the Global Compact and the Millennium Development Goals. However, the value of public-private partnerships has come under much discussion.
The agenda points are:
1) How well is the United Nations positioned to develop business partnerships?
2) What can business contribute to improve the capacity of the UN and the efficiency of partnerships?
3) How can the different concerns of society at large surrounding the Global Compact be addressed?
