Not many people understand how to modify a vehicle anymore. This video explains very common mistakes which people make when tuning. I have nothing against saxo's its just the images were easier to find.

  • @TheBrandonHowToos Spoilers provide downforce at the expense of drag. Show me an aerofoil that manipulates airflow without succumbing to friction (and therefore drag) and I will show you a physical impossibility.

  • @Jinppa No, I just have a little thing called taste, and driving an egg between soccer practice and piano recitals doesn't seem all that fun to me! I could care less what the price for gas in Finland is. If that was the case, I'd ride a bike to work rather than drive aforementioned egg.

  • the part about front wheel drive cars not benefiting from a spoiler isnt completely correct, for any car to handle well at high speed you need equal downforce on front and rear of the car, if there isnt any on the rear it will spin out at high speed corners. but to be fair a saxo is never going to achieve cornering speeds where downforce would make any difference. small cars like this (saxo, fiesta, clio ect) are junk, any half decent car will monster them on any road or track

Oh yeah, that one too! Absolutely love the 309 GTi 16V (160bhp). I almost bought one actually, too bad they are so rare nowadays.

It's actually pretty cheap and easy mod to take rear axle of 309 and install it on 205, makes even better track car.

  • @BWade40

You are just propably some ignorant americunt who drives his van/truck/"muscle" with big V8 with shitty mpg and then comes to Youtube bash small cars that are fun to drive and in contrast still have great mpg ratings. Sad. You really are so spoiled, you have no idea how much gas costs in europe compared to U.S.

For example, in Finland gas costs $8.30 per gallon. Think about it.

  • @Jinppa what about the 309 GTI? just a 205 with wider track and better weight distribution, probably one of the most underrated hot hatches, especially if you drop a GTI6/VTS engine in it. and all i can say about saxo haters is they must be jealous cos they spent shitloads more money on overweight crap handling cars.

  • has it occurred to you that most of these modders are more concerned with looking cool than going fast? and if you've ever driven a saxo you'll know they can be quite tail happy, so a spoiler isn't completely pointless, although most of those are just for show and give no downforce anyway.

  • @Jinppa Why are we arguing about which grocery-getter is better?

  • @zemlay Unless you live in a state that doesn't have emissions testing. Gotta love it.

  • Even though the guy who made this video is telling the truth, it's not all about speed and BHP. style is a big factor aswell you know.. if not the main. BHP means fuck all with the road laws today.

  • @trailbossdan1

Do you have any idea, how much induction kits with cone filters make your car sound louder, especially when compared to stock airbox? Oh wait, you don't. That's the reason why car manufactures don't put those filters on consumer cars.
