The ZDF included itself and the BBC in the credits. So I don't see what the WTF is about.

What's more interesting for kids - boring credits when they can't even read yet or being shown what's up next?
-
They couldn't even wait until the actual movie was over...

Oh, schnitzel! Germans just know how to destroy every beautiful moment... :)

Ain't buying that.. Here in Germany, late night TV spots are reserved for stuff like horror movies (of course censored beyond recoginition since this is Germany) or Call-in crap. Except for public broadcasting channels, who fill these spots with the only somewhat decent shows and movies (public broadcasting utterly sucks here during the day).
And what in the hell is smart about buying a brand new American sitcom only to broadcast it at 2:50 A.M. ?
Yeah, German television HATES credits - cause why waste a second on credits if you can waste it on loud, obnoxious commercials instead?
But sadly, this is by far the least of ZDF's (and all our public service broadcaster's ) problems: They are run by morons who spend millions of Euros to license foreign movies - that are then broadcasted LATE AT NIGHT when NOBODY'S WATCHING THEM. WTF?!

@EvilDoresh I have to say my opinion about the time of broadcasts differs. During the night, some stations go offline or transmit less demanding pictures. This enables the remaining stations to use higher bandwidths. Additionally during the day the DVB-S cards in your satellite receiver might be busy recording live television.
So sending movies at night might be a smart way of distributing them.
