Whilst designing a tripple 1/4 wave machine , i came across the 1/3 wave wind pump, using same 6 blades, larger diameter and self start,
Curved aerofoil blades filled with foam split the air, plus air pumped/sucked through the machine further maintains rotational torque.
this machine is very sensitive to blade angle, shape and length so i made it adjustable to fine tune both active and passive air displacement,
lighter blades would help with balance, but the use of polyurethane foam between aluminum profile and galvanised steel hub assy, as a shock absorber and method of fixing ...
Experimental machines are engineered to last at least 20 years in all wind extremes, and are on 24 hr test only at the Ranch.

"A vawt cannot compete with a hawt on power or torque based on the wind footprint principle or wind area, hence scaleability,
where a vawt excels is in the urban enviroment, where localised power solutions can be complimented by a daytime wind sculpture to light the area with led's at night"
or just put one on your chimney !
or for lifting water when linked to a rope pump,
early test stages still, more to follow
What does it do? Generate electric? Pump water?
