@fendweller, even back then, there was a player was not offside if he was not 'not seeking to gain an advantage'. The 'offside' forwards was running back to get onside, so he wasn't seeking to gain an advantage from being in an offside position, therefore he was not offside.

for the record leeds played over 80 games that season the size of the squad was 18 players todays players are fucking wankers and as for the game against chelsea leeds played hard as did most of the teams chelsea played dirty there is a big difference

Leeds were a hated team because that's just what they did to everyone else, when Chelsea fought fire with fire they couldn't handle it.
