its an old boat, obviously been restored or kept in good condition.
and back in the day the boats were wooden.
Its like saying why dont they make hot rods out of lamborghini bodys. of course theyd go faster than, say, a T-Bird, but the old style gives it more class.

in this video it is actually quite tame, this is nothing compaired to the way jonesy normally drives!!! anyone that has seen tis boat in action knows what im talking about

as said previously the boat is now twin turbo'd and touching 100 mph
at the time when this clip was done the boat was doing around 85 mph and only pushing out around 450 hp (poewr to weight ratio right there for you)

sorry to inform you tonyhearne but your a bit off the money.
the boat was only built a couple of years ago by rivercraft boats (well known timber ski/race boat maker , similar boats include seacrafts and syndicates) timber is used because of its amazing power to weight ratio and carbon fibre is not used cause thats just ridiculously expensive, not even the superclass race boats are carbon fibre and they are happy to spend over 100 grand an engine per year.
