Awesome song from awesome band ;P

LYRICS:
The tax man's taken all my dough,
And left me in this stately home,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
And I can't sail my yacht,
He's taken everything I got,
All I've got's this sunny afternoon.

Save me, save me, save me from this squeeze.
I gotta big fat mama trying to break me.
And I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In a summertime (3x)

My girlfriend's run off with my car,
And gone back to her ma and pa,
Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty.
Now I'm sitting here,
Sipping at my ice cold beer,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.

Help me, help me, help me sail away,
Well give me two good reasons why I oughta stay.
'Cause I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In a summertime (3x)

Ah, save me, save me, save me from this squeeze.
I gotta big fat mama trying to break me.
And I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In a summertime
In a summertime
In a summertime...

  • Wow. I love this song..

  • webby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "I got a big fat momma tryin' to break me" (my imagination wanders)

  • DRUNK? its drank, @Jefgg

  • Greatness

  • @rmhallman Clearly the Beatles were practically starving to death and living in squalor. Taxed to death, give me a break.

  • @Jefgg English beer is not drunk warm, it's drunk at cellar temperature (55F) so one can taste it, Also American beer is not simply Bud/Miller/Coors meant to be drunk ice cold. There are over 1700 breweries in America making tons of different styles and strengths. I've had beer from 3% ABV to over 20% ABV. The are great lower alcohol beers and high strength beers, you can have an experience you want.

  • "Now I'm sitting here, sipping at my ice cold beer." At least Ray Davies had a beer. I hope it was a good one. I heard English beer is meant to be drank warm. I am an American. Our beer is meant to be ice cold. Some people think our beer is weak. But I consider a beer to be a beverage, not a drug. And the drunk driving laws are strict in most states. You don't want a beer that is too heavy. If you want a strong American beer you get "malt liquor" preferably in 40 ounce bottles.
