Truth be told. That remarkable sound is a fresh today as it was when I first heard them close to 40 years ago.
As I listen (QMS Truth) and watch the fog roll into the SF Bay hi a-top my window in Sausalito, Ca I think this sound is vibrantly alive, dancing, hi-energy, sun one moment then fog, dreaming the next and will remain that way with me, it is the music-ification of Sausalito, it is sublime.
They were masters and their sound will live on and on way into the future...
Circuit, you obviously know little about the band and haven't listened to much of the music. Listen to Duncan playing on the earlier albums. Oh yeah, and John, as great as he was, had problems keeping his guitar tuned on live gigs in the early days. And QMS was a "vocals" band from the early days when Jim Murray was in them. Really, do some listening. And it's too bad you missed hearing them live in the early days.
Ah, Quicksilver Messenger Service! Now this is bringing me back alright! This is awesome to hear...thanks :) (and any friend of Tim/Kentishbloke is a friend of mine) All the best, Joy
