HSR-West - Auto Club Speedway 2010 - Trophy Race - BOSS & Formula 2.0

It was another fun and well run HSR West racing weekend.

But not without problems for me, as on Friday I didn't get much track time due to a leak from the right side radiator. Luckily the radiator held for the rest of the weekend after repairing the leak using epoxy and letting It dry overnight. :-)

Saturday went much better as I qualified 7th out of 25 and finished 7th during the qualifying race (Race 1). Sunday morning during the warmup I ran my my best lap time of the weekend a 1:40.62 while chasing Dino Bruno in his Formula Renault. For the trophy race (Race 2) I was gridded 7th again, but I missed the start (wrong gear). After a couple of laps I managed to gain back a few positions, but later spun while avoiding a spinning Formula Atlantic in turn 9 :-). Then received a black flag for passing under yellow in turn 12. It was very close, but the black flag was later removed from my records based on video evidence. It was fun passing cars starting from the back for the rest of the race, but I only managed to get back to 11th.

It's a bit unfortunate as the judgment from the corner worker and the spin affected my results. But that's part of racing, I still had a great time and I am looking forward to do better at the next event at Willow Springs.
