After a long waiting period, my footage of the tournament makes it to YouTube. Celebrating the achievements of Tien Shan Pai Grandmaster Huang, Chien-Liang, this video shows many demonstrations by Masters, and various competition forms for Kuoshu, Wushu, Taiji, Lei Tai fighting, Shuai Jiao, and more.

  • Interesting to note that all Chinese pugilists end up doing kick boxing when it comes to full-contact spar... haha..

  • There's more 'form' than you may think. It doesn't need to be movie flashy to be effective. There are also rules which limit what the 'player' can do. You must also consider that the fights at the tournament are amateur level. The 2009 video has better material IMHO.

  • ghost in the shell?

  • Originally a manga (japanese comic or 'graphic novel' by Masamune Shirow, who also created 'Appleseed' and 'Dominion Tank Police'. 'Ghost in the Shell' was adapted into two anime movies and a TV series in recent years.

  • I saw my Sifu performing a XingYi form at 5:10. This was shortly after he first began teaching me.

  • Awesome video, though I would like to see some of the performances at normal speed. Those people are amazing.

  • @lesterado haha it certainly looks that way! I mean, when you look at it, all forms of full contact look like kickboxing to some extent. For me? I follow that statement of yours. I'm a chinese pugilist, and I kickbox. I've got strong striking and good use of flying kicks. However, I'll admit, there are others who use applications from different styles that are useful; standing joint locks, takedowns, slams. I wish I had access to learn them. So I am largely... Sanda-style. Respect to all arts!

  • Well done montage.

  • @lesterado interesting to note that all ppl who say what you said have no idea how CMA really fights and have been watching too many movies.

  • this is like watchin avatar again xD

  • Thats my sifu doing the Mantis form in the beggining!! i rarely get a chance to see him perform.
