  • Dr. Byrds and Mr. Hyde has to go down as one of the most misunderstood albums of the 60s. Its truly fantastic.

  • It's really good, especially the CD version with improved sound and bonus tracks. Interesting how they messed it up on the original album... There is a clear difference in sound quality.

Child of the universe is pretty awful, but most of the other stuff on that album is great.

  • I'd love to get some cd's of this version of Byrds w/clarence.

  • There is a great live version on the double CD 'Untitled/Unissued'. The same version is also included in the 'There is a season' box.

  • Can't wait to hear the new Byrds Live at Albert Hall 1971 coming out on Sundazed Records.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • Wow! I hadn't heard about that! The Live at the Fillmore '69 is one of my all time favorite CDs. I hope there will be a real Byrds DVD some day...

  • @MakkariRevival Most byrdmaniacs consider it a transitional album to the next faze but if you think it stands on its own all well and good

  • Clarence White's prowess is obvious, but Skip Battin's bass line completely blows me away!

  • I HAD A DOG NAME BUTCH

  • The Hüsker Dü of Folk-/Countryrock : )

  • I wonder why they left out my favorite line? "When I get to heaven first thing I'll do is grab my horn and call for old Blue". It's the best thing about that song and I always remember it when I think of my old dogs.

  • im 87 this makes me feel young again woot woot

  • Yes,i was there in 1970 the byrds and many good bands like pink floyd it was in my home town Rotterdam very nice festival, what a great time whe have there!!!!!!!

  • This prototype of the Parsons/White B-bender was cobbled together by Gene Parsons and Clarence. There is actually two 53 or 54 Telecaster bodies sandwiched together and it is heavy. Marty showed me this one in Kansas City back in the late 80's. Ugly but beautiful, won't fit in a standard case.Marty does it justice.

    See ya'

  • @macaibhistin From what I've heard/read yes. I've seen him play it & didn't realize, at the time, that it was it.

  • you can hear him hollerin' miles around....
