In these recordings from Transatlantic Sessions, she was still a teenager of 19, a few months short of turning 20.

What brand of 6 string is she playing? Sounds amazing! I've tested out many but they sound more like guitars than a banjo.

It's a custom model made in Texas by Bernard Mollberg. He has a business website.

It's an aural orgasm, or, an "aurgasm."

Wow. I've seen Sarah playing this song backed by her usual duo of strings-playing friends from back home, but backed by this group of seasoned musicians, the maturity of Sarah's songwriting and musicianship is even more striking. Bravo to all involved!

So much born talent! What effect will having studied to earn a music composition degree have on her writing? I hope all that schooling does not inhibit the free-flow of her ideas.

Anybody know who the girl is that's playing fiddle? Saw her in a Steve Earle/Sharon Shannon "Galway Girl" vid.
