Sounds like you could use a better servo. Try the hi-tech hs-65hb. Or its digital counterpart the HS-5065hb. Otherwise, its an awesome toy.

I've just built my first Tricopter. I keep breaking the servo off it mounting with my clumsy landings but to be fair it probably breaks becuase all of the motor weight it above the pvot point.
This looks good - it solves the problem and makes the tail a lot neater at the same time!
