All this footage was shot on a Canon Ixus 100 in one day and then edited in the pub that evening! As you can see we didn't have the best conditions but the camera performed extremely well. In a few shots we have used accessory lenses but for the most part we have only used the camera in the housing.

All footage was shot by Spencer and Dan with music by Ollie.

  • is noot waterproof

  • That is why we use a housing!

  • but canon ixus 100 is not waterproof, how can it go under water?

  • I've tried to post a comment lots of times with a link but I've given up, there are two housings available for this camera, one made by Canon and the other made by Ikelite, I'm afraid you'll have to google them! Sorry

  • @CamerasUnderwater You can put the name and link to the housing into your video description if you want :) - I'm thinking about getting either a housing for my Ixus 100 or buying the Pentax Optio W90. My impression was, that the housing makes handling the Ixus and watching the screen too difficult under water and the W90 might be an easier toy - what do you think?

  • I personally would go with the Ixus 100 in a housing as the HD video on this camera is superb. The Canon housing doesn't make it akward to use at all and you will have the ability to buy accessory lenses which will make a great improvement to your videos. Some of this video was shot using accessory lenses.

  • im so impressed with the footage ! ive been looking for a decent video camera plus housing for a while , wasnt expecting a little camera like this to be soo goood .

  • Hi Paul, amazing video.

A question, when you use video on a 100is it fixes the focus but you seem to manage to keep things in sharp focus even when you bobing forwards and backwards. Do you use either the 'infinity' or 'normal' setting on the camera to achive this?

Or is the depth of focus just better with a wide angle lens? I heard that you should use 'infinity' with a wide angle but I just wondered what you thought?

    Cheers

  • Certainly an 8GB SD card will give about 50mins.

  • Can it record video more than 10 mins

  • @sharku711 its just a normal jellyfish!

  • @CamerasUnderwater Yeah i know dad said xD

  • I am off to Lundy myself in July. Cant wait after looking at this video. I hope I get as good fottage as you.
