I managed to get some of the World Wide CQ Contest on video later on in the Contest. Watch the video to see for yourself the splatter and pile ups at my QTH using my Yaesu FT-767GX, Delta Loop, G5RV and Hustler Vertical.

  • Thanks Terry, I am situated at 1000ft asl with a good take off especially to the west. Get some big signals from across your side.

  • Just purchased a Yaesu FT-767GX (in the mail to me now), which I plan to restore to everyday use. Enjoyed watching your rig at work and hope mine performs as well. Working on my General license and will perhaps hear from you during a future contest. 73 de W5NET (Heidelberg DE).

  • Hi Stewart, Good luck on your General hope to work you one day ;-)

The FT 767GX is Very good on HF but a Little bit deaf and out dated on VHF. Besides that I love using the Robust, quality sounding. reliable. FT-767, (owned for the last 6+ years) on all of the HF bands .Enjoy yours and good DXing 73

  • Got the radio just after posting that last message and it's looking good. Seems to be working well, but will wait to take the exam before trying anything beyond a dummy load. The battery is dead, so had to order another. All else seems fine (at least at the moment). Can't complain since I got it cheap from an old friend who owns a lot of older radios. He knew I liked this radio (saw it at his house) and offered it after learning I was thinking about getting back into ham radio.

  • Hi Paul, I am running a Home brew Delta Loop for 20m, A Doublet (130 feet) for 40M & 80M Also a Hustler 6BTV for 15M & 10M.

I am out on the Moor at about 1000FT ASL and have a good long path take off to VK so maybe I will hear you soon Paul! 73 de Simon
