I'm doing the exercise for sport performance (i play collegiate soccer).
I've never been taught how to do any type of olympic lift, so I want to do the one that is the easiest to learn and has the least risk of injury. i've found it to be quite easy to learn the form for the dumbbell version, so i'm sticking with those for now.

I have a question...would you recommend doing a power clean with dumbbells or a hang clean? Does it matter much?

cleans from the floor are the best in my opinion..I only ever have people use dumbbells from a hang position.
using a bar is preferred but technique is key. I have seen some nasty form with a bar, so often I have people use dumbbells because it is easeir to teach. And less dangerous.
Why exactly are you doing cleans? Sport performance, general fitness??
