@saxplyr49 They did this in DE all-state Sr. Jazz band. Alto sits middle because saxline is to listen in. Tenor one on left end, the reason I was told to put tenor 2 next to tenor one was for like pablorenor said listening. but alto one always stays in middle cause they're the lead. TAATB is more tiditional and i think makes more sense but TTAAB is just a different way to think of it. now people even say it should be BTAAT

Tenor 2 and Tpt. 2 usually take the jazz (improv) solos so they sit nearest the rhythm section.
