On April 28, 2011, Southern California's first public smart meter forum was held in Santa Barbara. The panel was organized to include views from both sides, as well as the left and right, so the audience could fairly weigh all factors. Southern California Edison (SCE) was invited to participate in January and agreed to send a panelist and representatives. Just two days before the event, SCE pulled out after complaining about three of the panelists and the emcee. Attended by nearly 300, the free forum was presented as a public service by the nonpartisan SBTP http://www.santabarbarateaparty.com/
Speakers included Cindy Sage of Sage Associates; Josh Hart of StopSmartMeters.org; Lake County Supervisor Anthony Farrington; Mark Toney of TURN; Tyson Slocum of Public Citizen and Orlean Koehle,State President, Eagle Forum of California.
Please Note: The views of the panelists, emcee and moderator do not necessarily reflect those of SBTP and vice versa.
@aphoolimnaught i love it when some idiot leftist plagiarizing a rant peppered with fancy words as to appear smart does so with grammatical errors. Thanks for that.

@nottinmatterz2day Agreed. The supreme irony here is that we are able to use wireless technology to fight this technology. Meanwhile? If you care about pollinators, bees, bats, butterflies and birds? Turn of all circuits in your house that are not indispensably necessary, especially bedrooms, & unplug anything not in use. Turn you HW tank into an on demand tool only. Shield you meter wall. Wrap your meter in 2 layers of bubble wrap sandwiched in foil. Reduce cyber smog. Google thermoguy

@meterdatamanagement Absolutely. Anyone willing to see that the smart grid violates everything about the triple bottom line of ANY kind of fiscally, socially or environmentally sustainable approach is a first step to outsmart the stupid Privatization of the Commons I all airspace w/ ubiquitous EMFs in this global corporate P3 "smart" game which is a scam that uses your tax dollars to by mini cell phone tower meters which profile, spy on & outsmart you in full violation of the 4th amendment

@gunsandguitars Sounds like cognitive impairment as demonstrated by the peer reviewed science from EMF thermal effect to the biological tissues of your brains may already be well advanced

they should be able to charge based on demand, there is more demand during a heatwave, granted if there are oposing companies a person could switch their power too and fairly easily say with a phone call.
