Meet Sam Goldman, the ultimate social entrepreneur!

A returned Peace Corps volunteer in Benin who grew up in Mauritania, Pakistan, Peru, India and Rwanda, he studied biology and environmental studies in Canada and received his MBA from Stanford.

He just launched d.light design, the social venture that received best honors at the recent Global Social Venture Competition held at Berkeley.

  • Nice to see that delightdesign product are mailable thru Amazon com for very little cost Hopefully the designs have been released as open hardware & no broad overly restrictive patents have been issued. In the event neither or both are true Delightdesign & Goldman aren't serious in meeting a 2017 deadline.

  • @jasonletarte Basically nothing wrong with it Humans lived sunup to sunset for who knows how long However we most likely wouldn't be living the life we live today if it weren't the extra productivity that artificial indoor lighting affords.

  • @hapolian I miss the part where he mentioned that dlight is experiencing economic difficulties, where did U read that they R? Generally supply a basic need is profitable No doubt when the target customer base R on the bottom of the wealth scale sales will B difficult. Their products are something every US family should have multiple of in their home, but again those on the bottom wud B hard pressed to do so for emergencies

  • Sad to see that dlight has so many economic problems.

  • whats wrong with going to bed early?
