I have been friends with David for over 25 years. When he was down and out, he didn't play the victim...he found a job as a auto mechanic. My sister (they lived together for years) bought all new equipment for him and he went on the Gong Show and won a much needed $900 to keep her in her rental. We stay in contact and he really is one of the finest people you will ever know.

I was passing through N.Carolina Back in the early 70's with my old flat top guitar when some people that told me they knew this old blues player named Shorty and would I like to meet him so we picked up a couple of bottles of Richards and when we got there he invited my entourage in and we jammed late into the night what I remember most is the compliment he paid me (boy dont give up you got a lotta soul).Well I have played for almost 40 years now thanks
