Start to finish on making your own WWW. Not edited for the grinding part, so you can see the amount of time it requires is very little. Be sure to wear a dust mask.

  • That is awsome. I will deffinatly have to try that. Sure beats ordering some tires from koker tire. Hey do all tires have that white layer under them or just the ones with the skinny white wall and the white letters.

  • @jon49der Thanks...only a tire that comes with a white strip showing or raised white letters has the wide underneath. I did some Dunlops and they were even wider than these.

  • @Klattu How did you figure this out the first time?

  • @mengle2004 Had to cut up a tire for the rubber as a protector for the lifting cables on a crane. The wide rubber under the black was visible when it was cut. Spinning the tire to remove the black seemed the best way to make smooth, kinda like a lathe

  • That seems unsafe to me. I wouldn't want to test the integrity of the tires. I can imagine plenty of sidewall blowouts in the future

  • @TheKOsToNe not stone flap disc..40 grit..mentioned that in video

  • @Klattu thank you for your response, much appreciated! i may just get brave enough to dig into those new tires and make them look like some wide white bad boys!

  • @jayocular Yes, but you will see the end of the white easy as you flatten the white wall you have at the beginning. Not need to grind deep, just keep moving the edge out until yo no longer see it expanding. The best/widest I've done have been on raised white letter tires. Since you allready have narrow white walls, go ahead and blend them wider, its not going to mess them up. Be sure your last grinding is smooth and with a high grit number. Best to use the 3M type discs at finish.

  • @tuugfo believe it or not,its 1 of only 2 choices....you either pay the only place you can get them nowadays coker tire about 275 a tire or get new tires and either do this yourself or have it done and save literally have the money.ghetto maybe, but smart, indeed!

  • @Klattuso, do you just keep grinding till u see the edge of the white wall?that doesnt mess up the finish of the black where you were grinding on at the edge?i have a set of gt champiro 75's with a 1.5" white wall but i wanted to go to about 2.5" and im getting mixed reviews from tire places on whether or not they can go that wide and i dont want to dig in and try b4 i know cuz i dont want to mess them up.they are on a 56 buick century so of course theyd look beter with a bigger whete wall!

  • it sure is a good day for exposed knees!

  • is that the 5.7 from the 1994 - 1996 impala ss?

  • we got 5 buick all spesh limited lt1 corvet morter in all of them

  • Years ago all tires had the white wall in the casing and the cut to white was extra cost. Newer tires and trends lead to a black wall only? My guess on this one!
