Duluth, MN is a lucky place...

A confused and shy individual, Charlie Parr plays original and traditional folk and rural-style blues, accompanying himself on National resonator guitars, 12-string guitar and a fretless banjo. Parr has failed at most things in his life. Music seems to have rendered him unemployable and is the only thing hes ever done with any confidence. A lot of folks have been saying nice things about Charlie, despite the lingering odors and indecipherable comments he makes. It says a lot about folks; theyre hanging in there with him, in spite of himself.

  • Hey gamb0056 - I'm not calling Charlie Parr a failure - I love his music, buy every one of his CDs before they come out - that info is satire and is taken from his very own myspace page - I imagine those are his words - not mine.

  • Thumbs up for the video... not the description...how presumptuous

  • I think I've got all his releases. Cost me a pretty packet, but worth it.

  • @jteshuwah They're still going. Just at a different venue.

  • Dammit that's nice!

  • @heidikellner - Charlie obviously loves what he is doing. You don't play that style of music if your goal is to be a rich and famous pop star. (Trust me, I know.) He plays and writes well and doesn't treat Country Blues like classical music or a museum piece that must be kept exactly as it was 80 years ago. If nothing else, you gotta respect him for that. I do! Looking forward to seeing him perform in Dallas this month.

  • @gamb0056 I agree, those who speak badly of others need to take a long look at themselves and their own brittle and bitter character. Heidi's comments about Charlie reek of a person devoid of goodness. It seems to me that Heidi sounds like a very mean minded person.

  • to bad they had to shut this festival down! i woulda liked to go, but didn't find out about till it was too late! how is it Justin Timberlake & Britney Spears can sell out stadiums and things like this - with REAL, GREAT QUALITY MUSIC - are forced to fold up from shear neglec?!! i'll never understand America when it comes to music.

  • @ heidikellner - do you actually know Charlie? Charlie is a quiet but personable guy. "...has failed at most things in his life?" what would you know of this? Charlie is a social worker in Duluth, has a degree in philosophy, and is happily married with children - never mind his musical successes. Hardly a "failure". "Lingering odors"? Please! What kind of picture are you trying to paint here... show a little respect for the man.

  • @TheFirstRatboy I saw him play last night. Could'nt smell a thing.

  • @rugshort I know, I can't smell a thing thru this video!
