This professional precision display model suitable for museums or private collection, depicts a model of the Big Beautiful Doll flown by Col. John D. Landers in 1945 of the 78th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force USAAF based at Duxford UK. This P51 is a 1/24 scale displayed in a perspex and wood casing, showing the aircraft being serviced in a hangar. Every piece in the hangar has been totally scratch built to 1.24 scale right down to the tiny telephone next to the tea cups. Size: 24 inches x 20 inches x 9 inches

  • By the way, B-U-TEE-FUL job. The hangar is more impressive than the plane.

  • Co. Landers had one of the prettiest Mustangs of the war but his scoreboard always confused me. It shows 36.5 or 37 kills but his officeal rally was 34.5.

    Landers finished the war with 14.5 air victories, plus 20 ground victories.

    Oh well, he was a true ace regardless.
