Now, I personally think video game soundtracks are better then movie soundtracks but SSBB has the best theme song in gaming history! I can listen to this song forever and ever and it can never get old. At first I had no clue what the hell the choir was saying but then I figured out it was latin but it's still an incredible song.

1 person speaks latin and cant read the english :D

Am I the only one who cant read it? It's just fuzz on my PC

I don't like Nitendo's translation. I study Latin, and "Audi Famam Illius" doesn't mean "I've heard legends of that person". Then it would be "Audui fabulam illius hominis". "Audi Famam Illius" means "Hear his story". Now I understand that this is a free translation, not so strickt, but come on Nintendo, some of the translations you gave don't make sense.

@Crystalitar actually, most of the medical terms that we know today, are in latin, but yes, other than that, it is a dead language

Search for "One Winged Angel" also by Nobuo Uematsu (who also wrote this song).

Wow... Latin is so different from portuguese and spanish! I speak both languages... Latin has nothing to do with either!
And yet they call spanish/mexican people "latins" as a generical term!

If you want to get REALLY technical, latins are people from all over the world whose native language is a romance language. They may be
Latin-Americans (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile)
Latin-Europeans (Spain, France, Italy, Romania, Portugal)
Latin-Africans (Morocco, Western Sahara, Ethiopia, Lybia)
Latin-Asians (Fillipines)
Latin-Oceanians (?) (French Polynesia)

This song is actually full of mistakes.
Even the first word "audi" is not correct.
In fact "audi" is the imperative form of "audio", 2nd singular person, so you should translate "You, listen [etc...]"
The form which should be translated as "I heard" is "audii".( double "i" )
You could probably think, ok, wtf, it's almost the same, but, trust me, it is not.
I'm writing my translation, the ones I found were not totally correct.

Also, splendor crescit means "our light grows" not "we shine even brighter". The spanish word "crecer" and "esplendor" both come from Latin so it's easy for me to see the mistakes.
