However one chooses to align with the Divine, or whatever one translates 'aligning with the Divine' to mean within one's own belief system, is perfectly fine, so I totally agree with you. They will heighten consciousness and also awareness of the spiritual fabric that is Divinity. The important point is to try one's best to work to align with this fine and rareified fabric when practicing divination. How one does that is up to personal preference (such things as faith, religion, and so on).
