I WAS such a Mega AIC/ lAYNE fan as a teen in the early 90's ....only now am I able to let myself begin to listen to this album which has been a difficult pill to swallow..but I believe Layne would want his old pals to do what they love and live a productive healthy life which he so yearned for. So sad he didn't pull through :(

agreed, its speaks of letting go in a very harsh way....Just like an abortion PRIVATE HELL
its a good track, about privacy and the ways of leaving things behind.
I am in a hospital right now, the people here take very good care of me And theres also a Creative Room , Pool$snooker, tables soccer

This album can be best described as "A True pure tribute to the great Layne Stayley"

AIC never wrote about depression, it was about an addiction to h, sounds like the same thing..

I've been an avid AIC fan since the day Facelift was released. I'm probably twice your age. (NOT braggin'!!! LoLoL.)
Anyway, when I want to listen to Black Gives Way To Blue AIC YT vids, I always go out of my way with the extra clicks, to find my way to your videos. Plain-Jane album cover image & all... the sound quality's great, and yours are my 'go to' vids.
Thanks for posting them. =)
Peace.

@JimmyGunz905 I know- and I've thought much the same. I love Layne Staley, and I love "new" AiC, with Wm. Duvall. They're both great for two different reasons. As in, don't MAKE me CHOOSE between pizza and lasagna! They're both great; for two different reasons!

@Richard52517 I get what you're saying. I'm still here; are you?

trying to crawl out of this private hell....but it continues to cave in.....sooner or later the depression always wins...fuck it...
I'm so glad Alice in Chains didn't change like most bands when they get new members or just for the hell of it. They still sound similar and I LOVE IT

Layne's dead. He was awesome but he died. I can think of no better way to honour him than to go on. Shit, lot's of songs on this album are for Layne. It's not like they came out with a record a year after he died, no, they took time, they grieved. This album is awesome. The rest of the band lived, people. They have to go on. What would you prefer? No more AIC ever? Not only did they make a new album, they made a fucking great new album. Really, listen to their classics forever then, stay in '95
