Sir Douglas Quintet perform "You're Gonna Miss Me", live, 'Fridays' TV show, 1981. Introduced by 'Fridays' cast member, the "ever charming", Michael Richards!
i remember seeing this when it aired. I was living in Arlingfun , Tx. , and did'nt know this song was a hit for The Elevators , because the Goddamned local Oldies station - which DID play "Nuggets" type stuff regularly , and the KZEW/Q102 /Z97 "Rock" axis of evil (Barring George Gimarc's Show.) never played it. I heard it ONCE. I only knew the SDQ , then , as I loved "Mendocino" at age 5, when it came out. Great performance , here. Doug 's about a MOVER !
Required viewing in Rock Band 101 at the local community college! In fact required viewing in Freshman orientation too - Do you fucking LOVE It punk? Better decide on the course of study, after throwing away the Tribune's list of high starting salaries and most in demand graduates.
For the polar opposite of energy on stage, see them play the1992 Mount Fuji Country Music Festival, apparently in a zero degree windchill and no windbreak.
