The end of the baby boomer era would be good news if it meant getting over the self-absorbed tripe that characterises it. That debt turned US into a superpower because we bankrolled war torn countries and they paid us back.The problem with this debt is that we owe it.So there is no global economy building solution.But you're right. The rich have gotten away with anything.In the past the Republicans were for business but still had actual solutions. Now its just a broken record about no taxes for the rich and they can do no wrong.

@jxsilicon9 The baby boomers were born into a country DEEPER in debt, Trillions of debt from WWII, back when a lunch meal could be had in a NY restaurant for 99 cents! Back then, minimum wage was under a dollar so the idea of being in that much debt shocked us just like it does you. We're in the mess we're in because the rich won't pay their fair share of taxes. Social Security is solvent for 30 years. Everything needs adjustments after 30 years, so don't worry; it'll be there for you. VOTE
