Originally a 262/4 speed Borg Warner 1976 2+2 Monza from the Chicago GM plant, direct imported by Rita and her husband to Sweden in 1976, it now has a slightly tuned 350/th350 setup.

Just took the front end apart and put polyurethane bushings in it which compliments the new Koni shockers well... apart from that it´s very much standard build.

Music: Led Zeppelin "Rock and Roll".

  • wait a minute, thats not a monza, thats a SKYHAWK holy shit i have that same car dude fucking sweet

  • No sorry wasup it´s a 1976 Chevrolet Monza, the Buick Skyhawk is basically the same car though, just like the Olds Starfire, all are GM h-bodies derived from Chevy Vega/Pontiac Astres 1971-75, Monzas etc were made 75-81.

  • aw man everyone always goes 350...

  • yeah and why not ?

    :)

the single most sold, easy to find spare parts for, easy to tune engine in the world with bucketloads of torque... and now gas is getting cheap again too, viva 350 !

    :)

  • Ugh! After just having seen a video of a Monza racing another car with rap music on it, seeing this with good 'ol Zep has brought me around again! Mmm...

  • Thanks..haha but that other one is my car and video too, I hear you about Zep though, seems

to fit the time and style of car better somehow, I almost saw them in 68 i London but I was too young for the place that served liquor and my mother had to take me to a stupid game arcade instead !!!

    :)

On the other hand I had already seen Cream

in 66... so you win some and lose some !

  • if you painted that thing two tone green, you would have my friends car way back in the day, which i drove some drag cars, some in the 11.0's in the 1/4 mile and 115-125 MPH I can only guess that car was regurally going about 140-160mph, which you need speed rated tires if doing that any length of time, but the speedo woudl wrap around and go back past the 55mpg, handling was actually not to bad , not a qaulity car but its 262 had the same bolts and everything for the 350 so easy do.

  • Ahhh the Monza. I had the '76 version with the 350 dropped in it. Loved my old Maverick with the 302 as well. Kids these days don't have a clue.

  • @veltpak6 Not I!! I'm rockin' the 400.. well... 408 in mine (:

  • I own a Monza too, but it's totally another car. Monza is how GM named the Opel Ascona in Brazil.

  • My first car was a silver '77 Monza coup with a 305 V8, it was 1983- we called it the Gray Ghost. And although I begged my dad for a Camaro, I still loved that car. It had red interior just like this one. I played Led Zeppelin on the cassette player regularly myself- What a nice trip down memory lane- thanks for sharing this.

  • @veltpak6 not me! ive gone 252 bored out to 255 and gonna put on a turbo setup i got off a 231 outta a GN!

  • my dad has a 1980 skyhawk 350...soon to be a 383

  • Chevy's version of the Ford Pinto complete with 1975 Camaro taillights. A real classic. LOL
