NEVER give white bread to animals! fx doves AND groundhogs, there is nothing in it for them! give them what is best for them! for groundhogs: fx berries and agricultural crops!

I once encountered a groundhog in Kansas City outside my house. I walked right up to it and petted it while it was eating! I couldn't believe it. I thought maybe it was blind and couldn't see me, but that seems unlikely. So it must have been a pet or was extremely used to people. I wish I'd kept it as a pet. It was incredibly soft, and so gentle.

thought they ate veggies only? i guess bread is an all vegatable food. have one this year near the house,and think it may be a baby from last spring. it is becoming immune to our goings on outside..

you start by giving it bread near it's hole and slowly time after time it will become less affraid of humans and will come closer. This is a long process it wil take at least one or two years.
