yes, I agree with thegurney....don't understand the full purpose of the video, who are they cleaning? where is that place located? The message is somehow foggy for me..

also, it is a long time I wanted to ask but never dared to.....What is the meaning of Lobby? When does this word does into the english language?

this isn't the video i was hoping for.... i was going to post it to friends to encourage them to vote but this explains nothing about the "competition" nor about lobbying. it hardly even mentions the company you visit

can you make one for people who know nothing about lobbying, but might follow a video link from a friend?

@thegurney In previous years we have explained the problems of lobbying. The Website (worstlobby.eu) goes much further into the issues you are concerned about. The point of this video is to emphasise the satire - that's the point of the Worst Lobby Awards.

Videos are made for different purposes. If you want informative videos on Lobbying, there are plenty out there - as there are reports (see the ALTER EU website for more info)

@SieBer00 There is another way. But that other way is not going to happen overnight. Lobbying is one of the many issues that ensures that our system is not democratic and is driven by corporate interest. However, there are limitations to what an NGO can do. In a personal capacity there is always room to challenge those things further.

In all honesty - to tackle a system which is flawed and unfair, we need to a variety of tactics, not only one. This is one of the many.

I know about ALTER-EU. You may call me fatalistic if you like. But since you were kind enough to reply to my first question, let me ask you another: Do you think that there is less lobbying in the US? I do not think you do, I think you you think that there is no other way, because you take our political system as a given. I agree that everybody should try to change things for the better. I just do not believe that a lobby register will change the status quo.

@SieBer00 We agree, which is why the Worst Lobby Awards are hosted by ALTER-EU, the coalition that has been campaigning on all of the above. There are changes being made - for example there is a better but still not effective lobbying register coming out soon.

In the US a register has been made that is no longer voluntary. There's no point in being fatalistic and not seeing change as possible. We should all try, at least.
