The Best Part of an Endoscopy

So, I had to have an upper endoscopy done so I can figure out what's been plaguing me for so long... six or seven years of morning nausea... anyways, once I had a panic attack and got in the procedure room, the last thing I remembered was asking the doctor if what he was injecting me with was "the good stuff"... apparently it was. This is the moment I awoke (thanks Eric) from my slumber... thanks to my mom, I now know how doped up I was.

Whats the point using any painkillers or what so ever for gastroscopy? Did it today without spray or anything. Like np :P

@MthePG It was a sedative they used on me, not a painkiller... and it's not spray either... lol... but some people do have them done awake. I guess it might help to put the more nervous patients asleep so they don't choke on anything in the process... o_O Not sure, but I'm glad you got through it okay without "spray or anything" lol.

I AM SO SCARED I AM GOING TO SAY SOMETHING RIDICULOUSLY EMBARASSING OR SHOUT REALLY LOUD. I have one next week... I am SOOO scared!! Any words of wisdom?

@thx113875 Had one done today, it was fine. I had the mouth guard put in just after a sedation through my arm then all I remember is waking up in recovery a short while later. A little wobbly, minor bloating, glad for a cool cup of water (and a tasty bit of toast and juice). Later a slightly sore throat and tiredness but no other effects. Hope yours went well, thx.

I have one scheduled for next month and Im TERRIFIED! I choke very very easily so I'll most likely panic, I know I wont remember anything but its the fact that at one point I will be aware that scares me to death :( Im going because Ive been having nausea for years.
