@petorian1 I get 11 MPG consistently (town/highway) from my '70 F-250 390/C6 on 87 octane. I get nearly 13 using premium, but that doesn't make it worth the extra money. Even towing I get a little over 9 MPG. My '80 F-150 300/T-18 got over 20 on 87. I'd say these figures are fairly conservative.

Man I wish I was the person who was able to drive all the Ford Trucks in these commercials

The Courier was junk, but the 6 cyl 300ci motor was a workhorse and probably the best inline 6 ever made.

@RU469NO i agree

@Srd1126 actualy the milage is pretty spot on. My 76 F-150 with 302 and C6 gets 17, brothers 79 with300 and 4 speed gets 24, cousins 74 with swaped in 302 and 5 speed gets 24. Mine has a 4 brl carb the other two are stock 2brls's. These are highway numbers, around town we all lose a couple but still right there. My 74 F-350 Super Camper Special on the other hand is lucky to break 8 mpg on the highway downhyil slope with a tail wind, but the 460 will pull anything I want to hook up to :)

@BullDoggStyle, Haha, my brother did that to his 01 f250, now we are going to do the swap in my 78.

@RU469NO, I second that, i have a 78 ford f250 im gonna restore and put a 5.9 cummins in it.
While Semi trucks have doubled their fuel milage sinced the 80's from 4mpg to over 10mpg pickups are still for the most part under 20mpg city hmm why buy a 50,000 dollar king ranch ford when restoring a 1977 f150 will yield same mileage and better looks?

The 300 was an INLINE 6. And also I have seen 78-79 Ford F-150s or 250s with an extended cab
