Bandit, Twix & I are back to using the Clean Run Exercise Sourcebook 2. It is time to work with Twix on various handling skills and the exercise sourcebook is amazing at helping me figure out what I want to work on...

I am so impressed with my little Twix. I can't believe he is 11 months old! Almost a year and he is doing so well. However, I have been lagging on contact training. I'm also not working on the weave poles until he is older!

This exercise has many handling skills, front crosses, shoulder pulls, pull throughs, go on, get out, and was a lot of fun! I hope you can practice this one! I highly suggest it!

Have a great day!

Take care,
Pam, Bandit & Twix

  • Good Job!! He is really growing up.

  • @HillcrestBCs Thank you! I am so proud of him! He is amazing and has outstanding genetics because of you!!! :) THANKS A MILLION TIMES!

  • Pam... I'm in love with Twix! He's awsome and very very fast. He seems to enjoy agility so much! And you are a very good handler too!

Can I ask you something? (yes, of course I can LOL) Which toys do you use as a reward? My dog doesn't like frisbees as a reward and neither tug toys I think... he likes balls and treats but I think food isn't so good for agility isn't it? which other rewards can I use??

  • @PaulaFlanin Hope that helps some, it is hard to explain it in a short YT response. :) I will have treats on me and my dogs would rather play, so I will give a treat and if they take the treat they can play. :) This builds the food as more of a reinforcer. You will have to do the opposite play and if he plays treat. :) Then just alternate with the rewards. Sometimes a toy, sometimes food. :) The dog never knows and that is more exciting and makes you unpredictable. :)

  • @pamelamarxsen Thank you Pam! You are awsome you explain everything very good!!!

  • You rock :)

  • @PaulaFlanin Thanks Paula, I am working on a DVD for agility foundations right now, but one of the parts will be on how to build anything as a reinforcer. I can use my hat and my shoes and my dogs will play with them. I would start by giving a treat after your dog plays or even mouths a tug toy. Then play, click and treat. Once he will play, then you can sometimes reward with a toy and if he play he can earn a treat too. Alternate between treats and toys so he never knows what he will get.

  • @JakeVomRivergreen Thanks, He is fast and loves agility. I could not be more proud of him! He is an amazing dog! Bandit has competition. hehe!

  • @TheWigglebutt Thanks! He does have drive and is quick. I know that when he starts jumping full height, it will slow him down some, but I hope he does keep some of his speed. :) It is a blast working with two BC's that love agility and to do tricks. I love being on spring break and getting to practice agility and canine freestyle every day! It is so fun. I just wish I did not have to go back to work on Monday. :(
