Travis Orbin - Travis Brown Session - "Airplane Glue"

Travis Brown is a solo rock artist out of Aurora, IL. This was another 'one-off' that I did out of my home studio in early August. Travis also mixed the tune and did a commendable job!

The snare is my Truth stainless steel ('twas also utilized for the We Play The Part session), and I decided to go with 15/14 hats instead of 14/13 for a lower crunch.

Travis, have you had issues with the tips of your magnum sticks? I've had 3 pairs so far, one pair is still going strong but the other 2 pairs have had a stick fail prematurely in my opinion as I have not had this problem before. One stick after about 3 hrs of use has a 1/4" chuck missing from the side of the tip and a stick from the other pair with an hr of use has a tip that is split perfectly down the middle. The split runs about an 1/2" below the tip. Any similar problems in your experience?

@Zakk931 I've never had chunks degenerate from the stick, but I have had an entire stick split straight down the middle (Mangini sigs too); I saved 'em because I find it comical.

@m3nt4l173 I did once you suggested it (not really sure why I didn't just think of that myself), and figured it out. It seems a reference indigenous to that game, as opposed to RPG's in general. Thanks for the help (seriously).

@Trifectumband Oh yeah, I know what you mean. I had a brand new Evans hybrid snare head on and I put a good amount of scuffs on it before I realized the stick was damaged. I love the weight of the magnums but I'm going back to the Vater Shedder model. Size is similar to the magnums with a larger tip and more weight then most similar hickory sticks. I wish they were a tad heavier but I'm satisfied with them. The shaft doesn't last as long as the magnums but the tips stay intact.

@shaftninja I saved the split stick as well. I also found it amusing. I just kind of sat there and looked at it for a few minutes in silence. Frankly, the phrase ain't that a bitch was the first thing to pop into my head haha. Thanks for the reply and inspiration you give to me and so many others! Keep up the good work!
