Cosmic Obsession - Daylife: Real talk about astrometry and what that means to me and you.

In this long talk, I am trying to tell you that I have to learn how to do astrometry if I want to make and submit observations to the International Astronomical Union http://www.minorplanetcenter.net I get my coordinates from there here: http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/iau/MPEph/MPEph.html

I discovered why I never heard back from anyone about my images. The people I sent them to, and how I sent them, was not what was expected and therefore I received no reply. If this were going to be my only observation, I probably wouldn't have told you but I have to let you know what happened and what is going to be happening next until you understand what it takes to make an observation out in space and then get it confirmed by the men and women who do it for a living.

I have NOT found an article that spells how to do it as easily as I would like them to. Nor have I taken the three hours to get half-way through with the numbers. If I didn't know any better, I would say I was thinking I didn't want to do it but I know there is nothing I cannot do, only if I will or won't do it. Getting over the decision is the hard part. ANYWAYS... I'm going to work on the astrometry this week and the website update and probably an announcement about Cosmic Obsession "Nightlife" and "Daylife".

A solar telescope will be a wonderful addition...adding to the utility of your facility. Lunt Solar has a customer gallery available. I image in white light (I hope to pursue imaging in H alpha). Best of luck,Francis...and best wishes (from SoCal).
