A quick overview of the Smith & Wesson M&P .357 sig Compact sidearm based on my personal experiences with it.

Filmed from the intimacy of my bedroom, discover what makes the S&W M&P an awesome piece of machinery as I delve into the intricacies of firearm philosophy and juxtapose the weapon's awful dread.

In case you didn't realize it, that second paragraph was dripping with sarcasm. I do not wax philosophical. Just watch the video and enjoy it please!

Nobody reads these anyway, right? Except for me. I always read them!

  • And please describe the M&P's trigger to the Glock trigger when you have the time.

  • @smparker54 As to a Glock trigger, I definitely notice that it's different, but that difference is negligible & doesn't seem to hurt my ability to correctly operate the weapon. When I first looked at the M&P, I was a bit turned off by the trigger design. It seemed... "cheap". I was worried how it might feel when firing. But after a couple dry fires, it seemed okay. During live firing, I honestly can't tell that it's any different. It feels completely normal to me. Hope that helps!

  • You're a natural, Stu. Thanks for the review.

I love the .357sig caliber and have a chance to pick up the pistol but the one thing preventing me is that I own a Glock G-32 and a Steyr S9-A1.

If you have any experience in comparing the S-A1 models with the M&P sub-compact can you compare them for me? The Steyr is a great CCW size/caliber but more confidence in overall .357sig power.

Thanks again, and you're a natural in front of the camera. Hope to see you more often with great reviews.

  • @smparker54 Thank you for the kind comments good sir! Well, interesting story: The shop I purchased my M&P from was selling G-32's for $100 less. Thing is, as much as I respect Glock & adore its simplistic and reliable design, I just don't get along with them that well. I love virtually everything about them, they just don't fit me well. But in your spot, I might still get an M&P (maybe a different caliber though) just to have the variety. But the Steyr I have no experience with.

  • Because Clint Eastwood Jr. review it then I'll definitely buy it :)

  • @hordanpaypen Thanks for the comparison! Thumbs up for that :)

  • I love the .357 sig. But if it came down to my .357 or my 10mm, I would trust my 10mm.

  • @StrappedPharmer To the best of my knowledge, barrels on different caliber M&P's are not interchangeable.I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that people have tried it though :D

  • @naproductions01 Thanks for pointing that out. You're right of course. I seriously misspoke when I said, "ballistically similar." What I was meaning to infer was that the two cause similar damage. This can only be accomplished by the lower-mass .357 thanks to its added velocity. I'll have to add annotations to clear that up.

  • Question for you. Have you ever tried to put a 9mm barrel in your 357c? Does anyone know if they are compatible?
