Doug Chabot of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center investigaes weak snow near the ground at Lionhead. The snowpack is 7 feet deep and rests on 1 fot of faceted snow. He got a CT27, Q1 on his Compession Test.

  • I know, I know. Just when we were beginning to think it was getting stable two weeks ago our tests showed that it wasn't done with us yet. And sure enough, a few folks triggered slides on it. I'd love nothing more than to stop mentioning it! It's like an incurable disease...

  • You guys must be running out of unique ways to describe that damn-able November layer. There have been ninety some odd avalanche reports since the event and you've had to mention that sugary crap every single, blasted time.
