@lifemetall Low vocals for Death Metal is the popular choice and has been since the late 80's. Don't think that just because less people do it, that its "better". There is no such thing as "better", only opinion of what is "better". I prefer low vocals with DM, high rasps with BM and shouted / gritty stuff with Thrash. Its all opinion man; nothing is technically better, unless you start comparing growls to growls and screams to screams.

@hellfencer high pitched vocals aren't obtained by talent alone but it doesn't take much to perfect something you are born with. Not many people can produce the high pitched voice. Though a simple fact that "growling metal" to high pitched metal ratio is 1:10, says almost everything, another thing, if a singer can't pass a simple threshold of "pop culture" singing, i don't understand how can you compete in true art category

@lifemetall What's easier? Well, its probably EASIER to be born with everything you ever needed and never have to work for anything for it to work out well. This is very rare.

I don't give a shit HOW you get your vocals, as long as you can reproduce them consistently and it sounds good with your music. And Glen has amazing vocals.

@hellfencer what do you think it's easier? to learn or to have talent? you can learn how to growl through years, you are born with talent. OFC i can't growl because i have never practiced, same as i can't rap because i haven't practiced, you obtain skill, but you are born with talent. Thats why i prefer clear high pitched voiced over an obtainable skill. I prefer a message delivered to me rather then just rhythm with no words

Granted, Glen Benton does not have the most enunciated vocals, but that's his style. Personally, I'm willing to bet $20 you can't death growl properly.
