  • Where is Matisse VerDuyn now - in College Ball or the Minors?

  • @2freezeu2

I stopped in my first year of college. I broke my wrist and had to deal with some 'interesting' people. It wasn't for me.

I started programming and building websites.

If you're interested in baseball stats, I put this together for the MLB: oppoboppo (dot) org

Sorry if this disappoints you man, keep at it and don't forget to write down everything you learn along the way. It'll come in handy.

  • First off, GPA only goes up to 4.0. Second, Bryce Harper had a bat speed of 110 at the Homerun Derby Showcase.

  • Grade Point Average can be weighted above a 4.0 with participation in Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Honors courses are rated on a 4.5 scale; advanced placement on a 5 point.

"110" is in reference to something called an exit speed.

My 101mph "bat speed" is determined by a static ball test. The ball isn't moving before I hit it. Everyone competed in the Pre-Derby showcase, Bryce registered at 96mph in the static ball test.

  • If you watch the other video of me, taken at the Powershowcase, you will see it mentioned that my 101mph bat speed was the fastest in the competition amongst the top power hitters in the nation.

An "exit speed" is obviously faster, as it refers to the speed of the ball hit, after being thrown. The high velocity coming in allows for a higher velocity off of the bat.

  • @matissev26 Matisse - You were in the Power Showcase and you had one of the Fastest Bat Speeds Ever. Disappointed NO WAY!!!

  • Hey, check out usabaseballtube. It's a site strictly for baseball players to Showcase Their Skills.

  • you have a great swing no doubt, but those bat speed tests are faulty. your achieving your maximum bat speed after contact while bryce's bat is already decelerating, which is why it reads lower, but yet he can hit the harder and further. at 101 mph you should be producing exit speeds well above 110 mph consistently. just a few tweaks and you should have a very high level swing.
