Well bugmanx, it's quite obvious that you are the idiot. I'm aware that this is a large magnifying glass and not a laser, I'm also aware that laser is not spelled with a Z.
You should also try writing comments about peoples spelling correctly.

you know, I'd seen this video of yours before and the angle difference between the beams didn't even occur to me. I guess it's either parabolic reflector or lense for collecting eh? Anyway, keep the hits coming, you do great work!

LAZERS PEW PEW!

Dan, I love your work! I'm especially interested in softening and melting metal with these large fresie lenses. Here's an idea, you know those 4 or 8 leaf mirrored sun collectors that often go around the door of solar ovens? what if a similar design were applied to one of these lenses? Is it too much for the acrylic?
p.s. Melt us some copper!!

Thank you for the nice comment and great idea:-) The only issue with mirrors/reflectors is the fact that they would have 4 different angles even though focused on one spot the lens would not allow them to merge like regular glass in an oven. If you have a magnifying glass at home take 2 flashlights, one straight on to create a focal point the sun and another off to the side representing the sun from a mirrored reflector you can never get both focal points to match.
