Ladder 65 had been called to assist the MICU with lifting. Upon arrival it was determined no services were needed, but a individual ran up advising of a car around the corner at 1st & Lincoln Ave. Ladder arrived and attempted to knock it with dry chem till engine arrived. Video was after dry chem was used and a small explosion at firewall created a bigger fire.

  • just curious and not being negative, but why would they dispatch a dry ladder truck to a car fire? whats the point if you cant do anything?

  • @gsarjos If you read the notes to the video it explains why

  • A lil curious as to why first truck doesnt do shit, or was this filmed from an officers shuttle and why water supply took so long?

  • If you read the info attached with the video, it explains why. Our Ladder is a dry Ladder

  • Wow, Thank God that was not a house fire. That took along time to deploy and charge the line, especially with a crew ready to go! What's wrong with the engine on scene? Is it out of H2O or did you forget to put hoses on the truck? Maybe it is a Heavy Rescue? Know how to position the apparatus!!!! Anyways type in Excelsior Fire District and watch how volunteers put out a suburban fire?

  • I watched one video of a car fire and was not impressed. Your dept was 11 seconds faster from scene to charge the line, but your back-ups left kinks in the hose. our guys made sure they were all out. It only took your crew almost 3 minutes to deploy tools for the obvious fire still under the hood (as evident by black smoke billowing from the front of the auto). I would't say your crew was much better. Oh, what is with the solid stream in one side window and out of the other side?

  • bitch bitch bitch........everyone likes to do that .

shut up with the bitching already.

im sure these guys are well enough trained to notice if anything else was in jeopardy of burning, why rush to put out a car fire when its not even salvagable ?

i think these guys did a great job.

  • I like how you can see the engine in the rearview mirror

  • Fiberglass hood. They burn right off.

  • Looks like an F 150. My caught fire in the same area.

  • how can you guys not get this the ladder does not have water and thats that they cant make the engine get there anyfaster

  • They were there to try and help out and keep the flames from getting bigger if you could only read.

  • ok i can understnd you have someone run up to you saying there is something burning i mean we found one coming back to station in our rescue (also dry) and to who ever was on that hose you should know better never stand in front or directly behind a vehicle fire. one bumber or hood latch blows your legs are gone

  • damn grandmal was slow but she was 90

  • @AirForce194

    no. not again...

  • out of curiosity what is your standardized operating pressure for hoses
