Video from downtown Chattanooga. Watch at the storm forms. Around the 3:15 mark, it drops...at around the 3:30-4:00 mark mark, use the light post in front of the parking lot as a reference. It bisects the funnel. This is the Tornado that hit Chickamauga Dam and Harrison. It was absolutely crazy watching it form right in front of our eyes.

  • The lowering cloud there is outflow scud, not a tornado. But the storm certainly looks like a supercell, a great clip to watch.

Actually, this is THE Tornado that hit Chickamauga Dam. You can't see too good because we are a decent ways away. It was a confirmed touch down that had pretty extensive damage. A camera of the Army Corps of Engineers, got footage of it throwing two large large utility construction trailers in the river.

  • Where was this actually filmed? Kinda looks like that area near Broad St. Is that where this is?

  • @xxxCarnesxxx

That is correct. We filmed it from the parking lot of Mtn View Ford Lincoln Mercury at the corner of 20th Street and Market.

  • @ KCwxForecaster. I have to respectfully disagree with you on this. My video was actuallybused on the weather channel(weather.com) and is still on there now. They contacted me and this was a confirmed touch that hit Chickamauga Dam here in Chattanooga. You post is not based on facts, but opinion alone. My description has been confirmed. Thank you for watching. I will forward you the message where the weatherhelp desk came to me first on YouTube. :-)

  • @BossHogg639 This Tornado came through about 6 months ago actually. It was NOTHING in comparison to what our area received 3 days ago.

  • What no sirens sounding.. Oh the brids are the sirens! LOL

  • @Bigsausageboy You got on here to say that? If it's lame as you say then do something constructive, such as picking up garbage on the side of the road.

  • pick-up cars everywhere :)

  • Even though I had a hard time telling what it was from watching this clip, the cell does show a massive amount of rotation, an isolated updraft, and a classic hook-echo formation. And since there was reported damage after the fact, along with the storm exhibiting slow movement compared to that of a gust front, you can classify this as a tornado. Nice clip!

  • wow i think yal had one to many that day

  • Chattanooga is so lame and gay. I should know I live there

  • Wow, thanks so much for documenting this. Listen to those birds in the background freaking out! I wish I got to see this myself. I live in Middle Valley though.

  • I live off signal mountain, after class at UTC I went down dayton blvd before the second wave hit I kinda chuckled at the fact that the only fast food joint with power was mcdonalds..and it was packed. Goes to show how fat and desperate us Americans are at times of crisis

  • another one hit today haha
