@MilesSMB but, what if you only grow 100, and on the day you get the doomsday apparatus, change all of them to purples. That would work, right? And you'd have less than the 103 you've gotten previously, unless having 0 after you come out of a cave provokes them to sprout another seed.

Would that work?
