Shawn, how do I formally request that I not be posthumously baptized into the LDS church? Is there a way to have family members removed from the church's rolls? While I appreciate what the church is trying to do, I find it very offensive to my ancestors who moved to this country to escape religious persecution. They wouldn't want this at all.

You are sooooooooooooo inaccurate YOU don't know your bible. Has always been practiced and is NOT unbiblcal. Check out Corntheans. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:29: "Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?" Because ALL will be resurrected, anyboy who has ever walked the planet so ALL must be baptized the wayJesus was, by total immersion, by proper priesthood authority with two witneses.

@bobbyraejohnson -- And his followers were rude, and didst call upon others by childish, hateful names.

Are you even Slightly aware that your description of the Greek word "hooper" (sp?) is the Same as the assumed use of the word "for"? i.e. substitute, in the place of--Except, your description seems to attribute More Specifically, More Precisely, the concept a "proxy baptism", AND that the application of the word "For", in this case, is More correctly applied by the Mormons? -- Thanks for making that Even more clear to me. What a web.

Why don't you shut up and listen to him even Christ told people when they were wrong in their religion dummy and you can find videos where Mormons get caught actually bashing other faiths lol

Ad hominem tu quoque. The argument reflects Shawn's own method of deception.
Baptism is required to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, as demonstrated by Christ in his willingness to be baptized- "to fulfill all righteousness"- AND John's willingness to comply with the masters request.

If Shawn had researched early Christianity, he would know that the early Christians were practicing "Baptism for the Dead. If baptism is not important or necessary, why was Jesus, the Son of God, baptized? And why his last words to his disciples, to go preach the gospel to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost? And what happened to your testimony of the truth, Shawn. I could never deny mine, because I know it was from God.

Why didn't my response to this video go through?
Shawn, they will fight to keep the farce going. Keep speaking the TRUTH. The context is important! If you don't stick with context TWISTIANITY is born. You did a great job breaking this down. People must remember that Baptism was for those that realized they were sinners, repented after believing on the CHRIST, then baptized. No where in the Bible did they baptize dead people. Peter would have challenged Paul if He taught that. So would the other Apostles. Paul did NOT teach Baptism of the dead.

this means that the pagan Corinthians practiced baptism for the dead, and Paul used that fact as a way to show them they were wrong about resurrection.
