@chomsky88 True, but UP was created only for money... The creators also wants money... But they believed that the character thjey create will actually become popular. For a cartoon to be popular doesn't mean that the main character HAS to be young or beautiful. It's the plot that matters... But of course, usually the ones with pretty characters are more popular.

The good thing about pixar is that unlike other studios, they focus on like 1 movie per year and avery time it becomes a classic or an amazing movie. toy story 1, 2, 3, nemo, up, wall-e, cars....name it they got their fame!

and pixar is owned by steve jobs i think, the same person that co-founded Apple and now the c.e.o.

Pixar is great because they only make movies they are passionate about--kind of like Walt Disney when he was alive. Everyone said UP would never make it's money back because the lead character was an old man and there was little in the way of merchandizing opportunities. As usual the "experts" were wrong and it made a ton of money. It's so nice to see creative passion win out over people who only see things in terms of money.
