DON'T DO ANYTHING
Words & Music © SAM PHILLIPS
Lyrics & Chords

CAPO on 5th fret

I, I love you (D A/D D A/D)
When you don't (Em A7)
When you don't do anything (Em A7)
When you're useless (D A/D D A/D)
I love you more (Em A7)
When you don't do anything (Em A7)

When you don't move, when you don't try (G Bm)
When you don't say anything (Em A7)
When you don't move, when you don't win (G Bm)
When you don't make anything work (Em A7)

When you don't want, when you don't lie
When you don't make any sense
When you don't go, when you don't hide
When you don't think anything

Everything I know is running backwards now with you (Bm Em G Em)

I, I love you
When you don't
When you don't do anything
When you're useless
I love you more
When you don't do anything

(Bm Em G Em D A/D D A/D D A/D D)

My cover of one of my favourite songs by one of my favourite artists, the wonderful Sam Phillips (formely Leslie Phillips). You can see me using an EBow on this - normally used on electric guitar but here I use it on the acoustic. The clips are of the actual EBow overdubs - I'm not "EBow-Syncing"! If you like the song, please visit Sam at www.samphillips.com. The video was shot live in my home studio using a Samsung VP-D361i Mini DV camcorder and the audio was recorded on a PC using an Edirol M-16 DX digital mixer and Adobe Audition 3. The vocal microphone was a Behringer B-1 large diaphragm condenser. The guitar was recorded with a stereo pair of Behringer C-2 microphones. The guitar was my Tanglewood TW15CE-B steel string. I overdubbed two tracks of the same guitar played with an EBow.
