SCENIC MOTEL MACKINAC MACKINAW #1

I WAS IN MACKINAW CITY AUG. 2008 AND PULLED INTO THIS MOTEL PARKING LOT AT NIGHT TO TURN AROUND. MY CAR HEAD LIGHTS HIT THE WINDOW ON THE HOME JUST BEHIND THE MOTEL. I WAS SO TOUCHED BY WHAT I SAW ON THE WINDOW, THAT I HAD TO COME BACK DURING THE DAY TO VIDEO WHAT I HAD SEEN AND SHARE IT. I HOPE THE FAMILY WILL ONE DAY SEE THIS. IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THIS WAS A COUPLE WHO WELCOMED TRAVELERS,LOVED WILDLIFE(ALL THE BIRD FEEDERS),LOVED CHILDREN(TOYS AND SLIDE IN THE BACK YARD), THAT PAPA WAS VERY PROUD TO BE AMERICAN AND LOVED THIS COUNTRY(BUMPER STICKERS), GRAM KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING MORE AFTER WE LEAVE HERE(ANGEL STICKERS)~AND I'M SURE SHE IS WATCHING OVER HER LOVED ONES WHO WROTE ON THE HOMES WINDOWS. AND I THINK I'M GLAD I NEVER MET SPARKY!!!!(ALL THE WARNING SIGNS)!!!
ONE DAY WHAT I HAVE POSTED WILL MOST LIKLY BE GONE~ BUT THANKS TO YOUTUBE, NOT FORGOTTEN. I EVEN TOOK THE LAST METER READING. AND TOOK A SHOT OF THE SINK THAT I'M SURE GRAM PREPARED SO MANY MEALS FOR HER FAMILY. I HAD TO SHOOT TWICE~ IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP MY REFLECTION AND SHADOW OUT OF ALL THE WINDOWS. B/C YOUTUBE ONLY TAKES UP TO 10MINS AT A TIME, THERE ARE 3 VIDEOS. AND THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE~HAD I NOT RUN OUT OF SPACE ON MY SMALL FLIP VIDEO. I WOULD LOVE IF ANYONE WHO KNEW THESE PEOPLE WOULD COMMENT FOR US.

the hotel was owned by a family friend...he retired from the mack  avenue stamping plant in detroit and opened the hotel...my family worked there during the summer,cleaning rooms,painting,laundry..my father painted the 'scenic motel' sign in the opening..he hide a bottle of whiskey in the garage...i rode my minibike on the trail that leads to the lake..my memory of the owner named tommy is the smell of him lighting a lucky strike and taking tums for his always upset stomach,i miss him..

OMG~ We stayed here summers past, on our way up to the U.P.
