President Bush reiterated his call on Tuesday for Congress to lift the legislative ban on coastal oil exploration. He also assured investors that the government's rescue plan for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac did not constitute a bailout. He added that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SRP) is for emergencies, and doesn't address the fundamental issue of gasoline prices. President Bush also said the government's rescue package for the nation's two largest mortgage companies, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are only temporary and that shareholders still own the company.

  • what a dumbass.

  • Ha! Fuck the economy in oprder to force people to drill. A lack of OIL has nothing to do with irresponsible lending and spending, outside of this criminal going to war for it. Nor will oil relieve the hardships on American families, despire Bush giving himself sweeping powers that allow him to control large degrees of spending with accountibility.

Does it make you wonder whether that the economy wasn't left to go to hell so Bush could award his adminstration such powers? Just a thought...

  • What oil you talking about? The oil that was never increased? You are the idiot...OBAMA administration even admitted that their war in Lybia was for oil...we never increased in Iraqi oil or decreased in iraqi oil before or after the war...there was no war for oil. So who is the idiot now...I know loveloveretro

  • obama is no different...

we will go to war with iran for oil, to war with africa for oil, and to war with jordan if those in power are left alone. there must be change.

  • He needs to suspend the elections until things get back on track.

    No time table!

  • What's ironic is that he blames the Democrats for impeding on his policies, yet he was the one one trying to get people to purchase homes. I think both parties are to blame. Dem politicians wanted lower incomes & minorities to own homes while the Republicans let the lenders run wild, thus the mess the banks are in now. The big banks should have been paying attention to the loans they bought from the smaller ones.

  • goread41- The biggest con is that manmade global warming hoax! Absolutely unconscionable!

  • Stock in Kool Aid just keep going up... It's a wonder it's not floating our economy.
